After serving 6 years in the Army as an Airborne Ranger, Carl was honorably discharged after the Gulf War attaining the rank of Sergeant. He spent the next 8 years learning the skills of his loved profession in the environmental field. During his tenure with an international environmental company, Carl was awarded the highest honors for performance and compliance as Facility Manager of an EPA Permitted Part B Transfer and Disposal facility and moved them into new fields by pioneering a new division to develop and manage large environmental remediation projects.
Carl opened the doors to his own company, Environmental Management Solutions, Inc. in 2001 and quickly grew it into one of the most respected firms in Boise. Carl’s expertise and advice has also been sought after by Idaho Department of Environmental Quality on several occasions helping to bring regulators and private industry together with a common goal benefiting all Idahoans.
Carl has also spent time on humanitarian projects with an environmental need. The Homedale Airport pesticide site remediation and the Homedale abandoned tire cleanup (4,000 plus tires encompassing 10 acres) were 2 large projects where Carl and his company, EMS, in cooperation with US Ecology, IDEQ, and Idaho Waste Systems (IWS) donated time, money, and expertise to remediate these sites.
Carl sold EMS and retired in 2007 to pursue new opportunities where he could utilize his knowledge, interests and network in different fields. Carl has always has interest and passionate about real estate. He has been in the real estate market over the past 10 years as an investor, buying and selling commercial properties in Ada and Canyon County. Carl joined 43 Degrees North to pursue Real Estate full time where his knowledge and experience in negotiating and attention to detail will benefit his clients. Carl’s ability to develop solutions to complex problems has been the cornerstone of his career as well as his years of plan development and execution with oversight to large remediation projects will allow insight to building a home or understanding the complexities of large planned developments.
Carl and his wife Ju proudly call Eagle Idaho home along with their 2 Huskies and a Terrier. Both Carl and Ju enjoy skiing and cooking Asian Food. Both Carl and Ju have had the opportunity to travel to many countries like China, South East Asia, Europe and Middle East as well as within the United States over the course of their lives. Both feels very strongly about what Idaho has to offer, friendly people, year round outdoor activities, and a safe place to call home. Idaho is a great place to raise a family, study, retire, set up business and build a home.
