The Emotional Roller Coaster Ride of Downsizing PART2
Monday, April 25, 2011 at 12:01PM “Less is More”, what an oximoran! I really am sick of everyone telling me that. I know LESS is LESS of course, but this is where it becomes hard! I have to think about almost everything because I like almost “everything” I have! So as I walk around my house each day I do a mental yes/ no/ maybe checklist and the yes column is much larger than the no and the maybe is right there with the yeses. That’s when I have to go really deep into the thought process-) and decide how much that piece matters…… really. I ask myself things like, “is it going to work in the next house/style I am going for?, do I LOVE it?, is it timeless?do I want to keep cleaning it, am I really going to wear it 20 lbs from now? (That’s a whole other chapter). When you have MORE than LESS, for me, the “Less is More” theory will have to wait.
I know that More is supposed to mean more harmony, balance, and joy,in your life, time with family, and for me, traveling. So, back to focusing on creating the LESS, the end result, and believing that there is “light at the end of this long tunnel”.
